Tribunal maintains injury finding on carbon steel welded pipe from China

April 2, 2019

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced on March 28 the continuation of its August 2008 order (extended in August 2013) concerning the dumping and subsidizing of carbon steel welded pipe originating in or exported from China.

The Tribunal found that the resumption of dumping and subsidizing was likely to result in injury to Canadian industry. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will therefore continue to impose anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties on this product.

In October 2018 the CBSA had determined that the expiry of the Tribunal's findings was likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods.
