Tribunal maintains injury finding on copper tube from five countries

September 27, 2019

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced the continuation of its December 2013 findings in respect of the dumping of circular copper tube originating in or exported from Brazil, Greece, China, the Republic of Korea and Mexico, and the subsidizing of those goods originating in or exported from China.

In April 2019 the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) had determined that the expiry of the Tribunal's findings was likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods.

The Tribunal found that the resumption of dumping and subsidizing was likely to result in injury to Canadian industry. The CBSA will therefore continue to impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on this product.
