On May 9, 2019, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its order made in May 2014 concerning the dumping of hot rolled carbon steel plate and high-strength low-alloy steel plate originating in or exported from Brazil, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.

Following the Tribunal's decision the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods.

The CBSA's investigation has now been completed and the Agency has determined that the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping.

The Tribunal will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its finding is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and will issue its decision by March 13, 2020.
