Tribunal maintains injury finding on aluminum extrusions from China

January 14, 2020

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced the continuation of its finding in respect of the dumping and subsidizing of aluminum extrusions from China. The Tribunal's finding imposed anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties on these goods in 2009 and was renewed in 2014.

In August 2019 the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) had determined that the expiry of the Tribunal's findings was likely to result in the continuation or resumption of the dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods.

The Tribunal found that the resumption of dumping and subsidizing was likely to result in injury to Canadian industry. The CBSA will therefore continue to impose anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties on this product.
