Tribunal recommences inquiry on certain fabricated industrial steel components

March 13, 2020

Following a remand by the Federal Court of Appeal, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announced that it had recommenced its Inquiry No. NQ-2016-004 regarding certain fabricated industrial steel components from China, Korea and Spain.

The CITT concluded in May 2017 that the dumping and/or subsidizing of the goods caused injury to the domestic industry. The Tribunal ruled that specific goods were excluded from the determination, but not to the satisfaction of all parties requesting exemptions. Those parties appealed and the Federal Court of Appeal ruled in their favor.

The Tribunal will now make a redetermination of the denial of exclusion requests made by three complainants.
