U.S. Commission says imports of wind towers from Canada injure U.S. industry

August 4, 2020

The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) announced that it determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of utility scale wind towers from Canada, Indonesia, Korea, and Vietnam that the U.S. Department of Commerce has determined are sold in the United States at less than fair value and subsidized by the governments of Canada, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

As a result of the Commission's affirmative determinations, the Department of Commerce will issue antidumping duty orders on imports of this product from Canada, Indonesia, Korea, and Vietnam and countervailing duty orders on imports of this product from Canada, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

The USITC and Department of Commerce investigations were in response to a petition filed on July 9, 2019, by the Wind Tower Trade Coalition (Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. (Dallas, TX) and Broadwind Towers, Inc. (Manitowoc, WI)).
