Tribunal maintains injury finding on oil country tubular goods from eight countries, exempts Philippines

January 6, 2021

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced that it continued its finding made in April 2015 concerning the dumping of oil country tubular goods from from Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam.

The Tribunal found that the expiry of the finding with respect to subject goods from these countries was likely to result in injury to Canadian industry.

The Tribunal also announced that it rescinded its finding with respect to the subject goods from the Philippines following the determination of the President of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) that the expiry of the finding was unlikely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping.

The CBSA will therefore continue to impose anti-dumping duties on subject goods except for the ones from the Republic of the Philippines.
