Tribunal finds dumping of steel plate from Chinese Taipei and Germany injures Canadian industry

February 10, 2021

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced on February 5, 2021 its finding that the dumping of certain heavy plate, originating in or exported from Chinese Taipei and Germany, has caused material injury to the domestic industry.

Anti-dumping duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) on importations of these goods from Chinese Taipei and Germany.

The Tribunal also found that the volume of dumped goods, originating in or exported from Turkey are negligible. The Tribunal therefore terminated its inquiry in respect of these goods.

The Tribunal's inquiry and finding follow the issuance by the President of the CBSA of a final determination dated January 7, 2021 to the effect that the above-mentioned goods from Chinese Taipei and Germany have been dumped.
