Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement came into force on April 1st

The Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement (CUKTCA) Implementation Act, which received Royal Assent on March 17, 2021, came into force on April 1, 2021.

The United Kingdom Trade Continuity Remission Order, 2021, which provided temporary duty arrangements since January 1st, no longer applies for goods imported from the UK and mutual trade in goods is now regulated under the new agreement.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued Customs Notice 21-07 to provide information on the new agreement's Tariff Provisions, Proof of Origin and Shipping Requirements.
