Following the initiation of a dumping investigation by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated a preliminary injury inquiry into a complaint filed by four Canadian manufacturers that they have suffered injury as a result of the dumping of certain small power transformers, originating in or exported from Austria, Chinese Taipei an Korea.

The Tribunal will determine, by June 14, 2021, whether there is a reasonable indication that the alleged dumping has caused injury or retardation, or is threatening to cause injury to Canadian industry.

If so, the CBSA will continue its dumping investigation and, by July 14, 2021, will issue a preliminary determination. If this preliminary determination indicates that there has been dumping, the CBSA will then continue its investigation and, concurrently, the Tribunal will initiate a final injury inquiry.
