Canada Border Services Agency officers ratify new four-year contract

September 27, 2021

The union representing Canadian customs officers announced that its members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of the tentative agreement with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The union members held a one day work-to-rule strike action in early August which hit Canadian airports, land borders, commercial shipping ports and postal facilities and promptly reached a tentative agreement with the Federal Government.

The new contract is a four-year agreement from 2018-2022 with a total increase in wages of over 8%.

In the coming weeks, the union will meet with Treasury Board and CBSA representatives to sign the new collective agreement.
