CBSA issues final determinations on small power transformers from three countries

December 3, 2021

On November 25, 2021 the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced its determinations in respect of certain small power transformers from three countries.

The Agency terminated the dumping investigation in respect of transformers exported from South Korea by IEN Hanchang Co., Ltd., as they have not been dumped.

However, the CBSA made a final determination of dumping concerning the transformers originating in or exported from Austria, the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) and South Korea (excluding goods exported from South Korea by IEN Hanchang Co., Ltd.).

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic industry and will make a finding by December 24, 2021.
