CBSA prolongs the reinvestigation of values of refined sugar from several countries

January 12, 2022

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that it needed more time to complete the re-investigations to update the the normal values and export prices of refined sugar, refined from sugar cane or sugar beets, in granulated, liquid and powdered form (refined sugar), originating in or exported from the United States, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and amounts of subsidy of refined sugar originating in or exported from the European Union.

Orders from the Canadian International Trade Tribunal impose anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties on importations of the specified goods.

The CBSA has extended the re-investigations by 26 days due to the complexity and novelty of the issues presented by the re-investigations. Consequently, the re-investigations will conclude by March 30, 2022.
