Restriction on imports of live birds and products from U.S. states affected by avian influenza

May 11, 2022

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has implemented measures to protect Canada's poultry resources from ongoing outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza reported in poultry in the United States

The Agency advises that all raw poultry and all poultry products and by-products that are not fully cooked, including eggs and raw pet foods, sourced, processed, or packaged from the restricted zones in certain states are under restriction until further notice.

Commercial imports are restricted from the specific quarantine zones within these states until further notice.
