Trans-Pacific Partnership enters into force for Malaysia on November 29

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) entered into force for Malaysia on November 29, 2022.

As a result, eligible Malaysian goods imported into Canada are entitled to the CPTPP tariff treatment as of November 29, 2022.

The CPTPP is comprised of Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

Chile and Brunei are still in the process of implementing the Agreement.

The United Kingdom is in the process of negotiating it's adhesion to the Agreement with the original members.
