Tribunal to review expiry of duties on steel piling pipe from China

March 17, 2023

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its order made in July 2018 to determine if the expiry of the order is likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing of steel piling pipe from China and is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.

In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by August 10, 2023, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping or subsidizing if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of a positive determination, the Tribunal will determine, by January 17, 2024, whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.
