Tribunal initiates expiry review of duties on sucker rods from China

October 19, 2023

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding made in December 2018 to determine if the expiry of the finding is likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing of sucker rods from China and is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.

In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by March 14, 2024, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping or subsidizing if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of a positive determination, the Tribunal will determine, no later than August 21, 2024, whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.
