Reinvestigation of values of heavy steel plate from Chinese Taipei and Germany

October 24, 2023

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated a re-investigation to update the normal values and export prices of certain hot-rolled carbon steel heavy plate and high-strength low-alloy steel heavy plate exported from the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) and Germany.

An order from the Canadian International Trade Tribunal imposes anti-dumping duty on importations of the specified goods.

CBSA advises that normal values and export prices established during this re-investigation will be effective for the subject goods released from the CBSA on or after the date of the conclusion of the re-investigation. Normal values currently in place will expire on that date.

Under certain circumstances the normal values and export prices amounts determined as a result of this re-investigation may be applied retroactively (see last paragraph of following link).
