Tribunal initiates expiry review of duties on cold-rolled steel from China, Korea and Vietnam

November 15, 2023

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding made in December 2018, to determine if the expiry of the finding is likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing of cold-rolled steel from the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.

In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by April 12, 2024, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping or subsidizing if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of a positive determination, the Tribunal will determine, no later than September 19, 2024, whether the continued or resumed dumping or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.
