Tribunal finds dumping/subsidizing of certain wind towers from China injure Canadian industry

November 23, 2023

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal found that the dumping and subsidizing of certain steel utility wind towers and sections thereof originating in or exported from China have caused injury to the domestic industry.

The Tribunal excluded from its finding the above mentioned goods imported for installation in energy projects located west of the Ontario Manitoba border.

Anti dumping and countervailing duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The Tribunal's inquiry and finding follow the issuance by the President of the CBSA of a final determination of dumping and subsidizing dated October 18, 2023.
