CBSA finds dumping would resume if duties expired on concrete reinforcing bar from several countries

September 22, 2026

In April 2026 the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated expiry reviews of its findings concerning the dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from:

• People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Indonesia, the Italian Republic, the Federation of Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,

• The Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation.

Following the Tribunal's review initiation, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) started it's expiry review investigations to determine whether the expiry of the orders is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods.

The CBSA's investigations have now been completed and the Agency has determined that the expiry of the orders is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of such goods originating in the listed countries.

The CITT will now conduct inquiries to determine whether the expiry of its orders is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and will issue its decision by February 24, 2027.
