Canada has specific import requirements in place to avoid introducing animal diseases to protect its people, plants and animals.

These requirements will apply if you are travelling with a pet or planning to import an animal to Canada. One of the rules prohibits the entry of commercial dogs from countries at high-risk for dog rabies

You can find out what you need to know and do before you travel with your pet or import an animal on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's website.
