U.S. President Donald Trump issued a proclamation last Friday making further modifications to the list of Canadian goods subject to his Section 338 tariff of 50 percent. The changes are scheduled to take effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on October 30, 2026.
The proclamation removes 22 products from the tariff list, including certain plywood sheets, paper products, machinery and refrigeration equipment, and packing crates and boxes.
The proclamation then adds about 100 products to the list, including certain cocoa powder, paints, soaps, vinyl flooring, carpets, wood and paper products, canoes, chest freezers, valves, instruments, and waste products.
The lists of removed (Part A) and added (Part B) goods are available in Annex I to the proclamation.
